At Hounds Academy, we don’t just build better skaters, we build better leaders.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between talent and mentorship by providing high-performance coaching for athletes and professional growth for the next generation of coaches.

    Our signature three-day camps offer a firsthand professional experience through structured groups and expert-led daily lesson plans.

    We don’t just coach for the weekend, we provide every participant with the documentation and tools they need to master their progression independently.

    Hounds Academy offers a unique professional development stream where local coaches can engage with our three day curriculum, refine their methods, and access specialised tools.

    Our goal is to empower the existing coaching community with the same high-performance standards used at the highest levels of professional sport.

    While it is a fundamentally modern sport, its coaching standards have lagged behind for too long.

    This is not at the fault of the current coaches, moreso the environment of Australia and networks available for development.

    At Hounds Academy, we believe in a higher standard of development.

    Our mission is to bridge that gap, providing elite, structured coaching to skateboarders nationwide, and empowering the local coaches who serve as the lifeblood of their communities.

    We aren't just teaching tricks, we’re professionalising the culture.

    We believe that to skate fast is to skate with conviction.

    Our role as coaches is to instil that fundamental confidence in every athlete, providing them with the technical foundation and mental resilience to thrive, both on the board and beyond.

  • Our Motto ‘skate with purpose’ is a backbone of our model.

    No one has a coach every time they skate, so we aim to provide the tools for skateboarders to ‘self learn’ and be able to progress and think creatively on their own.

    By providing the tools for progression, we can leave and the skateboarder can skate with purpose long after we finish.

  • At Hounds Academy, our mentors are hand-selected for more than just their ability on a board.

    Every Hounds coach is a vetted professional, maintaining current First Aid & CPR certification alongside years of proven industry experience.

    Our faculty brings a multidisciplinary edge to the park, with specialists holding degrees and backgrounds in Sports Psychology, Youth Work, and Exercise Science.

    We don't just provide supervision; we provide specialized mentorship.

JOINING & COSTS

For coaches and athletes, there is no cost to attend a camp.

Under no circumstance should someone be denied their opportunity to develop because of financial restraints.

Camps are fully funded by grants, donations and sponsorship.

When camps open up, there is a limited number of spots which can be applied for.
